The world is experiencing a global pandemic. Countries around the globe are shutting their borders, enforcing curfews and imposing quarantines on their citizens in an attempt to quell the rise of this new virus. With estimates that 1 in 2 Americans will contract COVID-19 in the next year and the duration of enforced time off from work, Buddy Boy needs to adequately protect their employees that are putting themselves at risk for the company. All the responsibility now falls on us to adequately protect ourselves, which we cannot do if the company we work for will not provide for us. Hazard pay and guaranteed closure leave provide security, comfort and the increased morality of know our company has our backs during this global crisis.

Publix associates come into contact with hundreds of customers every day, and in this pandemic are considered “essential workers.” Publix employs about 89,000 part-time workers who do not receive paid time off for sick leave. During this national emergency, Publix is making record profit. Publix should pay all employees time and a half to compensate for any health-related expenses that may come up during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Update : Most of our store are now doing curbside pick up even as the Virus is becoming more and more serious Experts now say the covid-19 is going airborne we have no masks and subway gloves which mean even more contact the employees have to make .Lives are at risk. Several customers come in every day not knowing if they’re sick due to the shortage of tests. Even though there is no dining in the store, there still are small crowds in small lines that form. During orders, some of them have already displayed signs of sickness. Hazard pay would be at the very least since we are not offered sick day leave.

In a letter to the Harvard community, President Bacow wrote, “I am proud to be a member of a community where people put the greater good above their own self-interest;” and he urged students, faculty, and staff to “temper increased distance with deeper care for one another.” In this time of crisis, Harvard should put the good of its employees ahead of the university’s narrow budgetary interests. Harvard should lead in demonstrating a spirit of care by ensuring that all workers at this university, whether directly hired or subcontracted, will be paid for the rest of the semester so that they can weather this pandemic.

My son works for one and he said they dont get sick pay and he cant wear rubber gloves cause he has to keep removing them and hes a single dad with a toddler at home in his sole care. All these delivery companies need to do way more to protect their employees. Not only are they putting them and their families at home at risk but they are also putting their customers at risk. And Starbucks should definitely shut down!

As being a small business owner does come with it’s perks; right now it can be a hard time to be self-employed. Being self-employed also means no paid leave. Currently the social distancing guidelines of no more then 10 bodies in a group has possibly affected some in home daycares. Not only have providers struggled with social distancing; the high demand of sanitation products have left providers with nothing to keep surfaces safe. In result home childcare providers are forced to close doors due to the Coronavirus outbreak. These small business owners are left without work for an extended period of time. This causes families to fall behind on bills and a dramatic decline in household income to support their families. With the decline in income being a known factor, some childcare providers try to hold on and stay open as long as possible. Although this puts individuals at risk of COVID-19 spreading, some childcare providers can not afford the dramatic loss of income and are forced to stay open. For the few that do stay open, their income slowly declines due to parents being without work resulting in no money to pay to keep their child enrolled. So many issues have taken place within the past two weeks with COVID-19 that has really took a toll on small business owners/childcare providers.

I really shouldn't have to explain this I mean come on we all know GameStop isn't really essential it should shut down for the Coronavirus.

Grocery stores have been deemed an essential service yet their employees are not being protected from Covid-19. These workers are being forced to be exposed to potential infection over and over daily and are also forced to potentially carry disease home to their families. These workers are incredibly vulnerable and are not being protected by their employers or the government.

Please keep AAA employees safe at home and work from home to help remain healthy and help families in these difficult times in LA county. The only time you should leave your home is for essential activities. AAA does not qualify as an essential business to remain open, employees should now work from home.

Best Buy does not qualify in any of these, so therefore should close doors for the safety of the employees & their families! Also offer Pay Leave to employees!

We are facing a national crisis and are required to go to work every day without pay if we get sick. We are told how important it is we stay open to serve our communities. We are putting ourselves at increased risk of contracting COVID-19 while IPP does nothing for it's retail staff on the front lines.

I say this is crucial because you do not know who has this deathly virus. Sure, you can wear PPE gear (personal protective equipment) but, that may not stop you from still using that same glove to wipe your nose with that you instantly forgot could be contaminated. Of course, keep your safe distance, 6 feet from person to person contact--that will not keep you virus safe as no one knows who has it and they do not need to stay home as no one is watching them to do. Especially new families with infants and elderly to keep safe.
