To: Sam's Mart
Gas station/convenience store
We should be paid double for not only risking our lives but the lives of our families all for a few dollars.
We have constant contact with customers with a distance of less than 3 feet for each transaction. customers can't really practice the 6 feet rule because everything is positioned in front of the register. Not selling lottery would be a huge deterrent for customers. Lottery is not essential. Gas is essential.
Also Sam's Mart has secretly been selling off stores to current managers with intent of keeping the current staff without knowledge in order to prevent the new franchisees from being without staff or short on staff. All current pay rates will be cut.
We were tricked in early March 2020 to enroll in a new site called Trinet for all of our HR needs including health benefits. It was in fact a ploy to make us think we were just simply using a different company but would still have coverage. Franchisees don't offer insurance. Once the store is sold, no benefits and no current pay.
Salaried managers were given a contract in November stating Managers would retain the store if they choose not to buy with the understanding that when the store was sold, they would be laid off and given severance. Instead, they're being fired or being pushed to quit so they dont have to pay.

Why is this important?
Sam's Mart gives the public the appearance of community. They are in fact, liars and don't care about the people on the front line of this company.
We have direct contact with people hundreds of times a day. This is dangerous. The district managers are making sure they're not in the stores by sending out emails from the comfort of their homes while we are suffering and stressed.
We have families too. So putting our lives af risk for a company that blatantly thinks its employees are trash and not worthy of hazard pay and transparency in it's business ethics.
