FT/PT why not same pay scale at Publix
I am a Publix associate of more than 25 years and becoming a widow recently has changed my future drastically. I have entered semi retirement by claiming SS benefits and reducing hours to PT only because when you claim your SS benefits there is an income cap yearly. As a suddenly sole bread winner, a cut in hourly wages simply because I moved to PT seems unfair. I am still expected to perform the customer service and tasks as someone that is FT associate.
Why is this important?
The same job class should be paid equally for performing the exact same job! It shouldn’t matter if you are PT or FT. It is especially difficult if you are a single parent or sole income earner.
