Allow fingernail polish/artificial nails at Starbucks
I have been in the food industry since 2013, and I have worked with a variety of food establishments that I am far more involved with food than I am at Starbucks and they would allow nails/painted nails.
I’ve even worked at establishments that would allow them with the satisfaction of wearing food safety gloves.
I feel as a Starbucks employee we strive on meeting Starbucks standards and policies. We go above and beyond daily to implement the rules, that if we were allowed to wear our nails or even paint them. We would wash our hands more frequently including scrubbing under the nails, we would wear gloves to protect not only our customers but partners when making their beverages and pastry/bakery items, nothing would change if anything more policies can be put in place.
I used to use my nails as a way of art to define who I was as a person . It was a part of me Starbucks took away and I’d really love to have it back even if it meant no one could see them at work because the point isn’t to show them off it’s so when I’m not at work I can, and I’d love to now have to constantly take them off each day I have to return back to work after a one day break. (I currently buy press ons and apply them on my off days and remove them before I return to work).
I hope I am not the only one who may feel this way.

Why is this important?
Because if you’re like me it’s time to be heard, it’s time for Starbucks to realize how many other food establishments that allow nails and fingernail polish. It’s time for Starbucks to see what they have taken from me and others … as I stated before it’s a part of who I am how I identify myself…
