All We Wanted for Christmas (and still want in 2020) is a Correct Paycheck.
Since the end of April, 2019, employees at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Southern Ocean Medical Center, Palisades, The Harborage, and other Hackensack Meridian Health facilities have had tremendous issues with incorrect paychecks after a change in payroll systems. We were promised timely corrections. This hasn't happened. We were promised audits to ensure our individual earnings are correct. This hasn't happened. And we were promised paychecks that are easy to read so an employee can determine if they were paid correctly. This hasn't happened.
Hackensack Meridian employees have had their credit damaged, nearly lost mortgages when attempting to buy homes, and a host of other issues that resulted from not receiving the pay we've earned. This has been going on for over eight months. Medical staff should be able to focus on caring for their patients without having to worry if their paycheck is going to be right.
We need Hackensack Meridian Health and CEO Bob Garrett to fix outstanding pay issues, provide each staff member with individual audits, and give us pay stubs that are easy to understand.

Why is this important?
We've had nurses on maternity or sick leave receive no pay. We've had staff missing thousands of dollars of wages, accumulated over multiple paychecks with multiple errors, who took months to be reimbursed. Some nurses and staff are still working to correct their pay, and there are new issues each pay cycle. Managers are being obligated to fix pay versus dealing with issues on their unit. The payroll department is offsite from each hospital and have taken weeks to get back to local HR about pay problems. This situation is untenable and deserves to be spotlighted.
